Recruiters ARE in fact like the BOUNCERS’ of the job market, controlling the ‘red velvet rope’ of that highly coveted VIP JOB that many (highly qualified candidates) desire ‘entry’ to. And if you aren’t up to THEIR standards AT FIRST GLANCE, you won’t get in (get a call back, or a phone interview, etc.), REGARDLESS of how much you tell them you want or need the job.

And, most importantly, YOU SHOULDN’T ASSUME that just because you send a recruiter your resume, that that’s all you need to do, and that they will automatically find you a job. In fact, NOTHING could be further from truth…

Unless your resume is optimized, amplified and positioning you as POWERFULLY as possible for the position at hand/the kinds of roles for which they recruit, your perfectly well-intentioned resume and background may mean NOTHING to them…because in black and white, it isn’t articulating and REPRESENTING YOU the way it NEEDS to, to catch their interest and attention.

That’s why the FIRST IMPRESSION you make upon recruiters is so crucial.

So, if you’re still floating aimlessly somewhere in the resume black hole, then it’s very clear that you don’t need yet ANOTHER person reviewing your resume (and telling you it’s fine as it is), because something is obviously not reaching and speaking to your target audience the way it should.
